First five stories on Yahoo News today: "If Jesus Never Existed, Religion May Be Fiction", "FFRF goes the hard way to attack Christianity", "Teen Worker Forced To Wear Homophobic Slur on Name Tag at Popular Taco Chain", "Stephen Hawking Says 'There Is No God,' Confirms He's An Atheist", "Denver area students walk out of school in protest".

Conclusion: if you do not believe that there is an all out attack on Christianity, you need to pull your head out of the sand.

First time in Scripture I've ever actually seen an example of an offering box. Of course, many churches today do not take up offerings, but use boxes like this. I guess it could be said that it is biblical. However, I still do not have a problem with offering plates being passed. Actually, I've come to prefer them. Not casting judgment, just preference.

The Sin of Pride

2 Samuel 24:10 "And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the Lord, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O Lord, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly."

The ordering of the census was a blatant act of pride. The king had previously relied on God to bring victory in battle, but David’s numbering of only the soldiers showed that he was focused on the nation’s military might instead.
